The Construction Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting with conduit proof and pulling of Fiber Coax, pole transfers, lashing cable, and splicing coax to build new plant.

 

Skills Required

Conduit proof and pulling of Fiber / Coax

Ability to place cable in the ground, unreeling, pulling and stringing wire and cable from pole to pole by perceiving differences in wire and cable colors to place fiber cable from Central Office through conduit or attach pole lines to customer business or distribution points in the loop.

Audit the system and terminate unauthorized connections.

Inspects lines, poles and equipment for signs of damage

Work in tunnels, buildings, vaults, trenches, attics, crawl spaces or manholes to place, maintain or remove wiring or equipment.

Work in remote and rough terrain locations.

Work outside in all weather conditions as well as dirt, grease and wood preservatives.

Knowledge and compliance of industry standard safety practices and procedures.

Use hand tools, power tools, and specialty tools, including telecommunications measuring devices.

Ability to operate lasher.

Ability to complete projects within designated timeframes..

Adheres to all company employee safety, and customer rules and policies. This includes, but is not limited to, appearance codes and vehicle policies.

Performs general clean-up of job sites following completion of work.

Assists in the investigation of incidents to prevent reoccurrence..

Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident.

Special Requirements

Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, kneel and lift throughout the day.

Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Ability to periodically lift up to 100 pounds.

Possess a valid State issued driver’s license with a current satisfactory driving record.

Full knowledge and capability of driving a bucket truck.

Ability to climb poles and ladders daily.

Confidence working in/on buckets, ladders and utility poles at heights of up to 40 feet.

Use the standard tools of the trade (screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, strippers, crimpers, hammers, etc.) to route cable, connect cable and install electronic equipment.

Sufficient visual and aural acuity to operate a variety of standard test and measurement equipment.

Zito Media currently has an opening for a Customer Sales & Service Representative in the Coudersport call center to serve as the primary customer point of contact for sales, activation and support of Zito Media’s Video, High Speed Internet, and Voice Services.  Full-time position, 40 hours per week, various working hours, including nights and weekends.  Position includes a monthly bonus potential, complimentary internet services (within service area), and a benefit package including medical, vision, dental and 401k.

Essential functions of the position may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide inbound telephone support to potential customers and to customers requesting information or experiencing technical difficulties and equipment problems, in order to reduce service calls and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Enter billing payments into the billing system and ensure reconciliation of cash drawer and payment entry on a daily basis. Research status of installation and service calls in order to resolve customer inquiries/complaints; research misapplied payments, billing and service adjustments. Communicate with customers in order to respond to questions; resolve service concerns; provide rate and programming information; initiate upgrade of current service and sell our products and services.
  • Responsible for technical support/troubleshooting, via telephone and computer, of the high-speed data product (including email and web hosting). Assist in the resolution of advanced level technical problems with troubleshooting procedures/skills.
  • Responsible for adding equipment into billing system accounts, notating the account with proper information as required, to properly execute customer orders, schedule installs and trouble calls, and document customer accounts on a daily basis. Responsible for providing required documentation for tracking work order status information.
  • Continually demonstrate and ensure superior customer service.
  • Other functions/duties as assigned.
  • Must be prompt, punctual and have regular attendance. Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and MS Publisher is required.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role is required.
  • Superior telephone skills are required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with email programs, Internet and WWW is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work flexible shifts and extended hours as needed.
  • Must be high energy, positive attitude, team player.
  • Able to work with limited management involvement.

 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with cable television billing systems.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP basic troubleshooting commands such as ‘ping’ and traceroute.
  • Call Center/Help Desk experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of both Macintosh and Windows operating systems.
  • One year’s experience in dispatch operations or customer service contact.
  • Basic understanding of cable and Internet networks, associated head-end or hub site equipment and switch operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic computer and cable modem troubleshooting.

Zito Media has a full-time opening for an experienced cable system Broadband Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance on CATV feeder/distribution and trunk systems in order to maintain system performance standards. Maintenance and repair of cable system, up to the headend.  This position also supports the Service Technicians on a regular basis.

Required: 5 years CATV experience or related work history in the cable tv industry.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Identify faults within the subscriber drop, feeder/distribution and trunk systems to ensure proper signal level, picture quality and compliance with all local, state, federal and Zito Media requirements and standards.
  • Correct these faults by adjusting, repairing or replacing passive or active components.
  • Perform signal egress/ingress detection; sweep alignment; installations; troubleshooting; test point measurements; system balance and preliminary proofs.
  • Perform emergency restoration of signal outages in the feeder/distribution and trunk systems.
  • Complete work assignments generated through subscriber service requests and technician follow-up requests, including unresolved technician work orders.
  • Audit the system and terminate unauthorized connections.
  • Activate new plant and perform preliminary proof.
  • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned or as become evident

 

Skills Required:

  • 5 years CATV experience or related work history in the cable tv industry.
  • Understanding of and ability to use: signal level meter, volt-ohm meter, cable locator egress monitoring devices, AC clamp meter television test set, spectrum analyzer basic time domain reflectometer, system maps sweep gear.
  • Apply technical expertise to a variety of situations, evaluate problems and implement the best solution.
  • Communicate effectively with the customer concerning reception problems and services.
  • Work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals.
  • Demonstrate support for excellent customer service.
  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with excellent driving record.

 

Special Requirements:

  • An active driver’s license is required for this position.
